Sweet Sunday in downtown

Thought of writing a blog since years specially after some happening event in my life i wish to pen down so that i can share it with all my near n dear ones but for some or other reason i could not make it .Finally i am managing to put one ,hope i take you to south station and you enjoy it as i did.
It was a usual weekday going, and we had no plans for the weekend. My hubby Akshay casually checked weekend weather and Sunday was going to be with pm t-storms(Afternoon thunder storms) so we decided to do all the grocery and other shopping on Saturday and keep Sunday free for rains.Unexpectedly on Saturday Akshay decided to roam out in Boston downtown.First train from our place on Sundays is at 10 am (which we always creeb about as it wastes almost half of day)and back train at 6pm from downtown(so early:( ) still we planned out accordingly. We decided to have duck/trolley tour and then lunch at Indian restaurant and finally go to Aquarium in the afternoon so that storms (if even they happen to come) wont spoil our plan.Ducks tours are the tours on amphibian buses, literally these buses go on roads as well sail in water and trolley tours were in the modernized buses with wide windows to have clear look, trolley tour cover major attractions in Boston and have Hop on and off feature ,they have pick up in 15 mins from all the stops.
next morning our journey began at 9 am from home as we had to walk down 2 mile to station.Surprisingly Commuter trains are delayed even in US.2 guys waiting for same train stood nearby and one of them said to other "u know?when did last time train has come on right time,is never."He he finally we found out something that happens similar to India. After 15-20 mins wait, train arrived.People here enjoy their summers to full extent so for no surprise train was full(not that we have in mumbai)and after an hours time we were at south station stop at Boston. At Information centre we got to know bus is already there ,we ran to the stop which was quite close to the station and caught the trolley bus.Trolley guy our guide for the tour welcomed us with wide grin.
Our very first spot was place were Boston Tea party happened .It took me to history classes in school and one of my cousin who could relate my place in US with tea party :)The Boston Tea Party was an act of direct action protest by Americans against Britishers in which they destroyed many crates of tea bricks belonging to the British East India Company on ships in Boston Harbour. This incident helped to spark the American revolution.
Then the trolley took us to all the famous spots.Boston is really great historic place to visit with all its traditional structures which are now converted to lavish hotels! Then we hopped off at Public garden, erroneously referred to as "Boston Commons". It has a pond called FROG pond were kids are allowed to go.Children were enjoying pond water to the fullest!i too felt like going in but then i am no more a kid :( By now it was late afternoon and i started feeling tired and my face was showing all the hunger inside. So we decided to hop in a trolley again and get down at place were we can have our lunch.Luckily next stop was Quincy Market which is supposed to be 2nd place visited by tourist in whole of US.It has restaurants from almost all the countries and unique feature of this market is ,it has live shows going on everywhere. We first thought of having food and so relished on Masala Dosa and Veggie wrap!now we were again ready to freak. We enjoyed few shows and you know what?it started thundering..hmm .Boston Aquarium was close by and before it rains we manage to reach there but there was a long queue for tickets so we were in the queue praying that it wont rain till we get in.But Murphy's law has to work and it started pouring like anything,Akshay asked me to go under roof ,thinking about cold i too went in were all the ladies and kids were standing.By the time Akshay got the tickets he was all wet. But Aquarium is a lovely place so his patience yielded sweet fruits. We spend few hours and now it was time to go back and it was still heavily raining,we both ran down to station and this time i had no excuse but to enjoy rains as we had to catch 6pm train!Luckily from station we got lift to our appartment:) thats how was a lovely week END.
